Louis Jadot Bourgogne Chardonay

LCBO#: 933077

Tasting notes
“Year in, year out, this entry-level white from the one of France’s best large producers overachieves. And the fresh 2008 vintage is very good.” Beppi Crosariol, Globe and Mail.

“Served blind, Jadot Chardonnay reminds me of the great white Montrachets that cost 10 times as much. Big buttery hazelnut and spicy apple bouquet and flavours, yes, but the payoff is the sleek, very silken texture and vibrant mineral-laden finish. Food suggestion Alaskan king crab cakes. Rating 91 Gord Stimell, The Toronto Star.

Winemaker Notes (Jacques Lardière)
This 100% Chardonnay is selected from nuberous growers in the Cote Chalonnais, the Cote Maconnais & the Hautes-Cotes de Beaune. A small proportion of superior village-level wines are added to the finished cuvee. partially fermented and aged in oak casks.

Mitolo Jester Shiraz

McLaren Vale Australia
Robert Parker - 91 points

LCBO#: 659607

Tasting notes
This full-bodied, juicy Shiraz delivers upfront and approachable aromas of chocolate-covered dark cherries, anise, allspice, coffee and hints of oak. Subtle yet structured tannins support a velvety elongated finish. A partnership established in 1999 between two friends, Ben Glaetzer and owner Frank Mitolo, has created a range of wines offering elegance, purity and power.

Winemaker Notes
Heavy grey loam soils intermixed with black Biscay clay combined with a Maritime climate, in the Willunga district of MacLaren Vale, contribute to even ripening and the development of rich flavours and ripe tannins.
Fermented on skins, cool temperatures capture and enhance the bright, pure berry fruit. The wine was then pressed and underwent partical barrel fermentation with natural malolactic fermentation occurring before the wine was racked. Aged in 2-4 year old French oak for nine months.
Every vintage from 2001 through 2007 has received a score of 90+ from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Pairs well with beef, lamb and burgers.
