Scott Northey

Who am I?

I am the “Scott of the North”.

That thing I do (Occupation)

I am the sales rep covering Barrie, Muskoka, and Collingwood. I also have the territory of Oshawa/Whitby.

Fondest wine memory

At my wife’s, Amanda, and my wedding we had the opportunity to open a 1950 Chateau Gillet Sauternes. It was fantastic to share it with family and friends. The guests compiled of wine pros, wine lovers, wine drinkers and beer drinkers. Everyone tried, and everyone enjoyed.

Favourite wine region

I have not yet had the chance to visit them all yet, so I will reserve judgment till I do.

Favourite Lifford wine

We clearly have the greatest collection of fantastic wines available in the market. To pick one is like choosing your favourite child, but being my mother’s favourite child, (just kidding Lyn and Karen, she loves you too). I would have to say the Marion Cabernet Sauvignon from Veneto.

First job

Well growing up in Muskoka, everyone I knew had a summer job as soon as possible. I was 13 and I worked at Santa’s Village. It still scars me. Much to my wife’s chagrin, I still sing Christmas carols in the summer.

Indulgence

I would say food and wine. My wife is a chef and combined with my passion for great wine, we tend to spend a large portion of our incomes and time on fabulous dinners.

Inspiration

What inspires me? Well it used be the mortgage, or car payment, but now I would have to say the impending birth of our first child.

What or where do I retreat to?

I live year round in the small picturesque village of Port Carling, Muskoka with my wife Amanda, our soon to be born son or daughter and our docile dog Kali, confused why more people don’t, but glad at the same time. Home is my retreat. I love the lakes.
