Fondest wine memory

Difficult but it is very hard to forget the 1915 Bonnes Mares and Jacques Lardiere 30th anniversary celebration at Maison Louis Jadot in Beaune.

Favourite wine region

New Zealand the land of the long white cloud has captured both my heart and my soul. If you get a chance to go do not miss it.

Favourite Lifford wine

Who is my favourite child? That is just not fair. I do have a soft spot for great Pinot Noir and any wine made from Sangiovese.

First job

I was born on a farm so my first jobs were things like mucking out the pigs and feeding the cows. Strong like bull smart like street car and look where it got me.

Indulgence

Reading a good non fiction book such as Omnivore’s Dilemma on the deck at the cottage.

Inspiration

I am inspired by the wonderful world we live in and the opportunities that arise out of dreams. If you do not have a dream how are you ever going to make a dream come true?

What or where do I retreat to?

My garden, a glass of wine and a moment silence is enough to cut me adrift from the day to day hubris of the 21st century.
